The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing the Infrastructure for Tomorrow—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. AIIB’s Strategy, Policy and Budget (SPB) Department is responsible for: (i) developing and monitoring the implementation of the Bank’s strategic agenda; (ii) developing and overseeing compliance with the Bank’s operational policies and procedures for the Bank’s infrastructure investment operations (non-treasury), including environmental, social, procurement and financial management; and (iii) developing and monitoring the Bank’s annual business plan to implement the Bank’s strategies and manage the Bank’s administrative budget to support the implementation of the annual business plan.
SPB is recruiting a Data Management Assistant to support the work of the Corporate Strategy team in implementing the Bank’s Corporate Strategy, Business Plan, and other strategic initiatives. The key responsibility of the Data Management Assistant is to provide necessary research, data and analytical support to the team, as well as administrative management and coordination as needed. The Data Management Assistant will collect and manage data from various sources and generate basic analytics from the data to support the business operation of the team, which may include secondary research utilizing external databases; creating and maintaining internal databases and dashboards; and generating business intelligence based on those databases. Attention to detail and the ability to perform logical sense checks are critical for success in this role.
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-The primary responsibility involves supporting the team with data collection, management, and analysis. The specific tasks include:
oIdentifying sources of data and its structure, and updating databases accordingly, such as supporting data pre-processing, structuring, and checking data accuracy and consistency.
oDeveloping processes and tools for data collection, automating analysis, progress management, and record and document management. Improve the efficiency of the data management process.
oRetrieving and preparing timely data, statistics, and market information to support the team's analytical work.
oSupporting quantitate and qualitative analysis with sound data quality and methodology design.
oUnderstanding business needs and requirements, then translating them into effective data analysis and insights to provide reliable support for decision making. This involves asking follow-up questions to fully understand the purpose of the task and data requirements, developing a well-thought-out plan to address them, and communicating these plans with the task owner to ensure alignment.
oPresenting information in a clear, understandable manner, including data visualization and dashboard creation but more importantly in a strong logical structure.
-In addition, the Assistant will provide more general support to the team, which includes:
oManaging schedules and maintaining up-to-date files and records of correspondence and documentation related to the team's operations.
oProviding support for the organization of meetings, events, workshops, travel, and conferences. This may include logistical support, on-site support, contents preparing, and note taking.
oSupporting procurement actions, processing invoices, and maintaining an up-to-date record of vendor payments.
oEnsuring the timely and smooth implementation of logistics for key tasks.
-Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Candidate Requirements
-Bachelor's degree or higher in related fields from a reputable university, with a preference for degrees in statistics, applied economics, mathematics, and business analytics.
-At least one year of relevant experience in data management and analytics, preferably within an international or financial institution.
-Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Applications, including advanced Excel skills, and data visualization tools such as Power BI is essential. Experience with SQL, Python, Stata and other coding languages and statistical/data mining techniques is a plus.
-Proficient in both verbal and written English and Chinese.
-Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
-Self-motivated and continuously looks for opportunities to improve team processes and workflow, proactively suggesting innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
-Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines, with a strong orientation towards service and the ability to support multiple team members' tasks by effectively prioritizing and managing workload.
